Workers’ Comp Mileage Reimbursement : We have some encouraging news for injured workers! According to the California Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC), the reimbursement rate for medical and medical-legal travel expenses will increase. This modification will become effective on January 1, 2019.

The charge per mile will increase by 4 cents, reaching 62.5 cents. It must be paid for travel beginning on or after July 1, 2022, regardless of when the injury occurred.

The provisions of Government Code Section 19820 and Labor Code Section 4600

The Labor Code section 4600 determined the workers’ comp mileage reimbursement amount for medical expenses and medical-legal fees. In addition, it was subject to Government Code section 19820 and the California Department of Human Resources regulations. In addition, it creates a connection with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
